Are video games a good thing?

That question has been posed ever since video games started getting popular. Parents and other people are always asking if video games are a good thing for the future. There are people who completely disagree with the fact that video games are good, and there are also people who do agree that video games can be a benefit for the future. I stumbled upon this website that shows the positives and negatives of playing video games. This article is very well detailed with so much information that I did not even know before. It also provides backup in what they are saying. Meaning they have confirmed certain things from actual scientists. All I knew before reading this was that video games helped trained the brain with hand-eye coordination and faster reactions. I knew that it was also a bad thing because you could get really hooked onto gaming that you will lose your social life and perhaps become one of those people who stay at home all day. However after reading this article, I found out many more ways on how video games can help be a benefit to our society. Not only does it train us with hand-eye coordination and faster reactions, but it also develops reading and math skills, makes the person think more critically and improves their concentration. It also simulates real world events that will help us if that "situation" may ever occur. Of course this article also states about the negatives. Such as that it could teach children wrong values. It could teach them that violent behavior, vengeance and aggression is a good thing.

So if you are interested in reading more about this, you should definitely check out this article.
